Radiant Remains by Jonah · Panama City, Florida

Skulls, brought back to life.

One-of-a-kind hand-painted skull wall art. Every piece starts as a real skull, whitetail deer, cow, springbok, cleaned, painted by hand, and finished ready to hang. No two are ever alike.

More on the studio wall

The wall changes week to week, and plenty of finished pieces sell or go out on consignment before they are ever photographed. If you are after a particular skull or size, ask what is finished and hanging right now.

About the images: Every photo on this page is one of my real pieces, shot at home in Panama City.

Triggerfish Jaw Necklaces

Also from the bench: real triggerfish jaws, cleaned, wire-wrapped by hand, and hung on cord. Each jaw keeps its natural shape and bite, so no two necklaces are alike. Tap any photo to enlarge it.

$60 each, add $10 if shipped. Stock turns over as I make them, so email me for what is on hand right now.

About me

I paint skulls out of Panama City, on Florida's Gulf Coast. My pieces hang in local shops and restaurants, and I ship anywhere.

The work is exactly what it sounds like: real skulls, painted entirely by hand. Each one is cleaned and prepped, then painted freehand in a design settled with the buyer, or, for originals, in my own. Because the canvas is bone, every skull takes paint differently, and every finished piece is genuinely one of one.

Finished work arrives ready to hang. I also paint custom commissions, including pieces built around a skull you already have and want transformed.

For galleries, shops & designers

Radiant Remains is actively placing work beyond the Panhandle: consignment, staging, and pieces specified for client spaces.

Consignment

Finished pieces are already selling on consignment at four local venues. I am looking for gallery and retail partners, especially along the 30A corridor and in western, rustic, and coastal spaces where a hand-painted skull stops people mid-room.

Staging & interiors

A single statement skull does the work of a whole wall. Pieces arrive ready to hang, and suit staging, model homes, lodges, restaurants, and western or southwestern interiors. Originals for purchase, or talk to me about placement.

Custom for clients

Designers and clients can commission a piece around a specific room, in a metallic finish or layered color work, with colors and motifs settled with me up front. Custom lead time is 4–6 weeks, so bring me in early in the project.

Email about placement

Out of state? No problem. I work by photos and video call, and ship finished pieces.

Commission a custom piece

Your skull or mine, your colors, painted by hand. Here's how it works:

1

Reach out

Email me with what you're imagining: skull type, colors, a room photo helps. If you have your own skull, mention that too.

2

Settle the design

You and I agree the direction, colors, motifs, and the price, based on the pieces above.

3

I paint it

The skull is cleaned, prepped, and painted freehand. This is the slow part, and it's why the work looks the way it does.

4

Ready to hang

Your finished piece ships (or is picked up locally in the Panama City area), ready to go straight on the wall.

Plan on 4–6 weeks for a custom. Every piece is painted by hand, start to finish, and good work doesn't rush. If you have a date in mind, ask early, and I will tell you honestly whether it fits.
